the physics of bouncing balls


and more, to get you in that newtonian frame of mind (these are just things I'm randomly finding online, so their veracity may be in question...should get you guys thinking though)

So... based on the chart the ball will bounce to that percentage based on the height in which it was falling from... I think. Nice comparison based on the properties of the mass and materials.

The animation is nice too. I like the front orthographic view where the bounces can be seen diminishing down as gravity takes over.

it actually varies depending on how heavy the ball is, how much bounce it has, and the force hitting downwards...the general property of the ball losing energy as it bounces is mostly the thing to be aware of...
